Choral Speaking Festival

This morning I had the pleasure of attending and opening the 39th consecutive Oldham Primary Schools Choral Speaking Festival, wonderfully organised by Rotary Oldham Metro.

 

Over the years, more than 60,000 children have taken part in this fantastic celebration of poetry and this year is no exception. Across the 4th, 5th and 6th March 2025, around 2,000 primary school pupils from across Oldham will take to the stage, showcasing their talent, confidence and love for the spoken word.

 

The Festival’s aim is to foster a love of poetry in children while helping them develop self-confidence – whether performing in groups, speaking in public, or standing before an audience.
