Anna’s Community Kitchen

Fantastic to visit Anna’s Community Kitchen this morning at their training cafe at St Herbert’s Court for the Wellbeing Improvement Fitness Initiative which is collaborative efforts between Voluntary sector and housing provider.
Housing provider opened doors for non residents who can come and spend time in lounge have meals, socialise -perfect treatment for loneliness and mental health
Their mission is to train individuals with learning difficulties, addiction and more – people who often face rejection from society. Through this initiative, they provide these individuals with the confidence and skills to thrive in a working kitchen environment, giving them the chance to truly SHINE!
That’s why I am calling on housing providers to open doors work with voluntary sector , help individuals to acquire skills , have space for community to socialise and reinvest back into community . Like Anna’s kitchen who fed thousands of of children free during school summer holidays across Oldham.
We have problem , we have solutions but we need willingness to resolve them . More to follow .
