BIDA (British International Doctors Association) National Conference

I was honoured to make the keynote speech at the BIDA (British International Doctors Association) National Conference today on “The Evolving Workforce: Supporting the NHS.”
International doctors play a crucial role in the NHS, making up 35% of the workforce and bringing diverse perspectives that enhance patient care.
Historically, towns like Oldham have struggled to recruit doctors, relying heavily on international graduates, whose important contributions have been vital to the NHS in our communities.
I’m delighted that today’s conference was an opportunity to be able to celebrate the contributions of international doctors and hear how we can work towards a brighter future for all in the NHS and deliver best care.
