#GazaCeaseFireNow

On Wednesday, MPs in the House of Commons will vote on a call for a ceasefire in Gaza. As a concerned citizen and fellow human being who is deeply troubled by the ongoing humanitarian crisis, I am urging all MPs to support a ceasefire to prevent further human suffering.
I called for a ceasefire on 1st November voicing the concerns of local people about the humanitarian impact of the ongoing conflict in Palestine and Israel. I wrote to Rishi Sunak, our Prime Minister, to express my concern about the impact of this conflict and asked him to use his considerable influence to work towards peace, ensure humanitarian aid and access for aid workers aswell as requesting a ceasefire to safeguard the lives of the innocent. Since my initial call for a ceasefire a further estimated 20,000 people have been killed.
The Gaza Health Ministry have reported the death toll in the Gaza Strip to be more than 28,000 and UNICEF estimates that at least 17,000 children in the Gaza Strip are unaccompanied or separated from their parents, with approximately 1.7 million people in the Gaza Strip being internally displaced and half of those being children. The impact of this humanitarian crisis will be felt for generations to come.
I speak in my personal capacity and my plea does not reflect the views of any organisation or position I might hold. This humanitarian crisis goes beyond party politics, it is about prioritising human lives and preventing the loss of innocent lives. #GazaCeaseFireNow
