Delighted to welcome the European Roma Organisation Manchester to the Mayor’s Parlour this morning in celebration of International Romani Day. It was a pleasure to mark this important occasion – recognising the rich culture and history of the Roma community here in Oldham and beyond.
Today is also a time for reflection – thinking of all those who have faced discrimination, both past and present. I’m wearing the Roma community support flag, kindly given to me today by the EROM, in solidarity, standing against all forms of discrimination and in support of a more inclusive future #LoveOldham #InternationalRomaniDay #StandAgainstDiscrimination
