I’m honoured to have been re-elected as Mayor of Oldham and to serve as First Citizen for another 12 months. Thank you to all political parties who have placed their trust in me. I would like to say a special thank you to group leaders, colleagues and residents for your support during a difficult year and I am humbled to have been selected to hold the position of First Citizen for another year.
During the last year as Mayor I was deeply moved by the generosity and compassion of the charities and organisations in our borough. It’s a privilege to serve such a caring community and I look forward to connecting and meeting more residents, groups and organisations over the next 12 months.
Being Mayor has allowed me to connect with countless residents, reinforcing my belief in the power of friendship and positivity.
To my family, friends and colleagues – thank you for standing by me with your time and your hearts.
I look forward to the year ahead, thank you once again for your trust and support.
